The SL55 has been upgraded with the full selection of RENNtech upgrades. The Mercedes-AMG upgrade specialists provided an ECU, intake, pulleys and intercooler, as well as long tube headers, a transmission upgrade with a torque convertor lock up clutch upgrade and increased stall speed with the addition of a 100% Limited Slip Differential, suspension, and brakes for the SL55. The result is a two seater roadster that feels exactly as the SL55 always promised, only more so with total power output producing a formidable 620 horsepower and a euphony of deep, throaty V8 rumbles through the RPM ranges.

The R230 SL55 AMG represented the apex of what Mercedes-Benz and AMG could produce together in the early 2000s. Understated. A car that wore its performance quietly and its luxury loudly. Beneath the retractable hardtop that looks as good up as it does down, sat a supercharged 5.5-litre V8, paired to an AMG-tuned five-speed automatic and Active Body Control.
