356 A Convertible

This 36,000 kilometer 1959 Porsche 356A 1600 Super Cabriolet is a truly beautiful example of the late 50’s Porsches. Painted in a dazzling Ruby Red over a tan leatherette interior, the 356 received a full service and maintenance at the RUF Factory in Pfaffenhausen which included a restoration of the drivetrain and a repaint of the wheel houses and underfloor. The Porsche features a Blaupunkt radio, USA-bumpers, Veith wheels and Comfort Seas all installed as additional options. RUF also installed a new convertible type adding to the complete nature of this 356A.

The 356A was introduced in 1956, after the success of Porsches initial “Pre-A” that debuted in 1948. The car featured some updated and improved components from the original, and Porsche offered a variety of engine choices that included the desirable ‘1600 Super’ with a 15 horsepower increase from the base to 75 horsepower.
